Yet another one of my shouts for the joys of Mediterranean cuisine! I thought I’d tackle the subject of fast food. Contrary to what you might think, fast food isn’t just hamburgers, chicken and chips. You may think you’re getting a good deal when you purchase the latest McDonalds Meal Deal or Kentucky Family bucket but did you know that it’s more than possible to feed yourself some wholesome, deliciously nutritious food on a budget as little as a pound? Even a family of four can eat for under a fiver (thanks for that Jamie Oliver/Sainsburys). And of course, dare I mention the credit crunch but in today’s economic climate we all need a helping hand.
The Med has always offered us some fantastic food and with such variety, it can be as simple or as intense as you like. That’s the wonder of the Mediterranean, there is such a vast array of recipes to suit all pockets and tastes that you are simply spoilt for choice. In fact, eating well, on a budget and the ability to prepare something as quickly as possible is high on the agenda for many including people who work long hours and working families with children.
