Chocolate Heaven in a Cookie

These have got to be the most amazing chocolate cookies I've ever made, give them a go and you just wont be able to control the urge to eat them as soon as they're out of the oven!

You will need:

150g plain flour

Half a teaspoon baking powder

35g cocoa powder

150g dark chocolate, at least 60% cocoa

110g butter

200g dark brown soft sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

300g milk chocolate chips

Method:

Preheat oven to gas mark 5/180*C.

Sieve the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl and set aside. Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl either over simmering water or in a microwave. Set aside to cool whilst you prepare the other ingredients.

Cream the butter and sugar in another large bowl until light and fluffy.  Beat in the eggs one at a time and add the vanilla extract. Pour in the melted chocolate and milk chocolate chips and stir well.  Finally, fold in the flour mixture until you get a gloriously lumpy choccy mess.  Spoon about 1 tsp size amounts on a baking sheet, spaced well apart as they will spread as they cook.

Bake in the oven for 10 minutes then allow to cool before transferring to a cooling rack (if they make it that far!).  Enjoy with or without a glass of milk!
