Yet another one of my shouts for the joys of Mediterranean cuisine! I thought I'd tackle the subject of fast food. Contrary to what you might think, fast food isn't just hamburgers, chicken and chips.

Mediterranean Cuisine - Quality with Quantity

I'm always astonished when I see mum's wheeling round trolleys in the supermarket packed to the hilt with frozen burgers, frozen chips, and other such unwholesome alternatives to good honest cooking. Many of these people that buy in to that 'fast food' or 'ready meal' culture generally tend to do so using one of a great many excuses.

A jewel of Art Deco monuments and heavenly chocolate

I'm ashamed to admit that at the eve of 40, I haven't toured Europe half as much as I should have. Worse still, Belgium, not least Brussels, was not high on my agenda of places to see.

Tom's Terrace - alfreso dining in London

On a blustery summer's day, it was time for a spot of lunch in one of London's newest eaterie's and 2 Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens latest venture, Tom's Terrace, at Somerset House. Probably not the best day to eat at an outdoor restaurant but I braved the elements anyway.

Iron Chef UK, Week 2!

This week sees 4 more challengers compete against the Iron Chef elites, Tom Aikens, Martin Blunos, Sanjay Diwedi and Judy Joo, to try and topple them off their podium and win a dish of the day Gold Star along the way.  Today saw challenger, Marcus, win a much deserved Gold Star for his very sexy Coq au Vin but collectively couldn't beat the much revered Iron Chef Tom Aikens.

Iron Chef UK has arrived!

By now you may have seen the first week of Iron Chef UK and what a riot it is!  Last week saw 4 worthy challengers, Richard, Jason, Liz and Kevin compete against one of four Iron Chefs each day.  Even though they couldn't topple any of the Iron Chefs, Liz managed to win 2 out of 4 of the coveted Dish of the Day Gold Stars and make it through to the final.

Stork - 90 years and counting...

Stork, long been the housewives favourite and the perfect baking ingredient, is celebrating it's 90th birthday. Hard to believe but this unique ingredient, best for cakes and pastry has been around longer than some of our grandparents.

Iron Chef UK is here!

It's finally here folks, the show that has gripped America and been a smash hit! Iron Chef is gracing our shores and is due to be aired on Channel 4 starting 26th April 2010 at 5pm, Monday to Friday. The show has many surprises in store and if you thought Masterchef was intense, you haven't seen anything! Iron Chef UK is full of high pressure cooking, top chefs, stressed challengers and one very funny presenter, Olly Smith.
