2009 - a vintage year for the UK's vineyards

Following a newly published report, it turns out the British vineyard industry has had a bumper year in 2009.  Accordign to the report, "winemakers can celebrate a vintage end to the last decade, following one of the best harvests on record.

ROSÉ WINE - a growing popularity

Apparently, Rosé wine is becomng a popular choice for people buying wines from the local supermarket.  Market analysts Nielsen report that sales of rosé are up 15 per cent, giving it a record 11 per cent share of all wine bought in supermarkets and off-licences (Daily Mail, 13th October 2009).

Wine Know-How

For those that really appreciate wine it can sometimes be hard making sure you choose the right variety and style of wine to suit the right occasion. This said, wine doesn't always have to follow the old fashioned rule of white for fish and chicken and red for red meat and game.
